Weight Loss for the Week: 1lb
I only got in one workout this week- and that was yesterday. Shortly after I posted my blog last Sunday, I got sick. I got sick enough to have to take Monday off from work and head to the doctor to get it all diagnosed and medicated. Fortunately, my wonderful doc was able to do just that. And I was able to go back to school on Tuesday, even though I barely had a voice. I opted to focus on getting better this week instead of pushing it and working out and all that due to what my doctor and I discussed. I am all better now, and I still lost weight (I'd imagine three days of eating mainly crackers contributed to that).
Speaking of the one workout, I tried the Power class at the gym with Kerry and her mom yesterday morning. It kicked my butt, and I'm glad we're going to start doing it twice a week. Zumba, Power, and cardio- that's going to be this next month's focus. After that, I will look into other classes, and I may even venture into the pool! The pool there is so cool, but so intense looking, I'm going to need awhile to prepare myself for it.
School was fine this week, the kids were so adorable when I came back- they offered to get me cough drops, tea with honey, and the like. They were also remarkably quiet those first few days when I didn't have much of a voice, and I really love that about them. My Theology kids are almost done with our first book, and we will then gear up to start their Morality book- I think I've just about figured out what I want to do with that. We're going to take a different approach than when they were learning about the New Testament. My Brit Lit kids are trudging through "Macbeth" and their Research Papers. It's getting better, I think they're understanding both more which is making them both more bearable. And Friday was nice in Theology- they made Valentines for the kids at St. Jude, and they were pretty adorable doing that. We listened to 80's music while they did that, such a nice way to end the week.
This weekend has been nice- I'm glad I got well in time for it! I went out to Flying Saucer for a friend's Plate Party, lots of fun! I was glad my appetite was back and my stomach was settled for the food and drinks. We got a dusting of snow yesterday! I had fun walking in it before it melted :) Then, I went and worked it off at the Power class the next morning. Last night, I went to a friend's birthday celebration. We started at The Second Line for dinner- omg, so good!!!- then, we and saw "Spamalot" at Playhouse- completely hysterical!- and we finally had cake and ice cream afterwards. After such a fun night out, it was a bit hard waking up for Mass this morning, but I made it :) Afterwards, I went to Panera with Mom, Memaw, Ashly, and Maddie and we had a nice brunch together (I got my Valentine's socks!).

Now, to rest a bit before the week begins again :)
Tip of the Week: Always have saltines and ginger ale on stand by- you may not always need them, but when you do, they better be right there.
