Weight Loss for the Week: 0lbs
I worked out 5 days this week. I tracked points meticulously. I have no clue how I didn't lose any weight. And let me be honest, it's frustrating. I know it happens. It has happened before, it will happen again. That will never make it any less frustrating though. I know, I know, everyone has had this happen, so we can all be frustrated together. Let's hope this next week proves a bit more productive in the weight loss department. I will continue with the healthy eating and all the workouts. I actually felt it the two days I didn't get to work out, and that's a nice realization.
School started back this past Tuesday while it was still in the single digits outside. Each student felt the need to let me know that fact, as though I had not been outside to feel the cold. I am pretty sure I did the same with friends, family, and colleagues, so I guess I'm no better than they are about such things. It did warm up finally, and now it's actually almost pleasant outside- for January. I think we had a good start back. I hit the ground running with all my students, and I even got them major dates for projects and papers this week. While I was glad to be so on top of all that, they were less than thrilled to see all the work I have planned for them this semester. They will make it, and they may even enjoy some of it as the semester goes on and they can realize it's more manageable than it seems.
Aside from all my workouts, I also got to do other social things with friends and family this weekend. I had dinner with my mom and Conor on Friday which was nice and unexpected. Saturday, Aunt Karen, Lindsay, and Paula came to see my apartment, then we went to lunch at Huey's down the street. It was so nice seeing them and catching up :) That night, I went to Book Club at Martha's, and we had a lot of fun as always. Today, I went to Mass, ran a few errands, and got everything ready for the week ahead. Then, Mom and I went to the Grizzlies game! They won! I made it home in time to watch Downton Abbey.
Now, I'm wondering where my weekend went as I settle in for the night and think through the upcoming week.
Tip of the Week: Try not to let minor setbacks discourage you from the bigger goal/picture.
